Sitting by the holy water,
Gazing into the glaring gold,
The silence, devoid of all chitter-chatter,
Like a mother’s hug, it beholds.
This moment of eerie stillness,
Veils the dogged commotion,
The mind – flustered by the fuzziness,
Apathetically seeks solace in reflection.
Like an unruly monsoon river, it starts meandering,
Thinking about what could have been,
I catapult it back to embrace the being,
Soaking the moment, taking in all I have seen.
The awareness of being truly alive,
Of thoughts devoid of shapes,
By letting the present thrive,
Is how one truly escapes.
